We are pleased to announce the release of Privilege Authority 2.7!

Version 2.7 has some key improvements to allow OU (Organizational Unit) administrators to manage privileges for their respective OUs without full domain permissions. It also makes it easier to deploy advanced privilege policies without complex rearrangement of Group Policies.

ScriptLogic and Quest are pleased to announce the release ofSecure Copy 6.0 Release Candidate! We have extended our product to include significant enhancements in the areas of data migration, job performance, logging and reporting, and job management.

What’s New in Secure Copy 6.0?

Bandwidth Throttling
• Secure Copy now has the ability to control the amount of data traffic that can potentially cause performance delays to critical systems by throttling the amount of data that is transferred across the network.
Volume Shadow Copy Support
• Secure Copy now supports utilizing the Volume Shadow Copy Service on source servers to ensure all data can be migrated without taking applications offline or disconnecting users.
Enhanced Platform Support
• Secure Copy’s multithreaded architecture now runs natively on 64-bit platforms, maximizing performance.

Logging and Reporting
• Newly Designed Logs and Reports tab that helps post-migration data analysis. Views include:

New Reports
• Predefined reports that provide summary information on a migration job including skipped and purged files, local user and group migration details, errors and file verification details

What restrictions are enforced on this RC?
Existing customers can apply their in-maintenance license to get full functionality of the RC version. Because it is a RC, the product has a built in time restriction of 3/31/2012 at which point the product will cease functioning.
Is technical support available for this RC release?
Technical support is available only via email to qa@scriptlogic.com. No phone support is available for this RC release.
Is there anything that I need to do if I was testing the Beta Version for this RC release?
Yes, You must first uninstall the 6.0.0.256 Beta build before installing the Release Candidate build.

MSI Studio 4.2 Now Available - New Editions!

We are pleased to announce the release of MSI Studio 4.2. This release includes a number of bug fixes, and a new, single edition of MSI Studio.

The biggest fix is that we now correctly capture changes to the 64-bit registry when capturing a 64-bit app on a 64-bit OS. But the biggest change is that we've now consolidated all versions of MSI Studio (Standard, Professional and SCCM) into a single MSI Studio Pro. The new MSI Studio Pro includes all of the Pro features, including the Software Warehouse, conflict detection and resolution and zero-touch testing as well as the integration with System Center Configuration Manager from the SCCM edition.

All of this is now available at a new lower price of $499 per administrator.

All customers with active maintenance can upgrade to the new MSI Studio Pro with their existing license, regardless of their current edition.

We are pleased to announce the release of Privilege Authority 2.5 Professional Edition.

We have enhanced the product so that you can have visibility into the usage of the deployed elevation rules and have more options to granularly target the elevation rules without changing Group Policy Objects.

The Privilege Authority 2.5 Professional edition includes these exciting new features new features:

Centralized Reporting Repository: Privilege elevation rule deployments and privilege elevation event records are collected and stored in a centralized SQL-based repository for reporting. The repository supports built-in reports as well as custom reporting using any 3rd party SQL-based reporting tool.
“Built-in” Compliance Reports: Meet compliance documentation requirements using the following built-in reports:

Detailed privilege elevation events occurring across all managed clients
Summary of privilege elevation rules and the clients to which they are deployed

Offline Virtual Machine Management

A virtual machine that is online and running is treated by Patch Authority Ultimate exactly the same as a physical machine. Offline virtual machines are those that aren’t powered on when a patch scan is performed. Patch Authority Ultimate now enables you to scan and patch online or offline virtual machines.

New Enhancements:

ü Patch Scan caching abilities that will improve the performance especially over WANs

ü Ability to execute agent policy actions by sending ad hoc commands from the console to your agents (e.g. executing a patch\power\asset task, update definitions or binaries, clearing retry counts, etc.)
